Home care workers to register withSocial Care Council from 2010.Letter to NDI: Following our telephone conversation today I can confirm that home care workers will be the next group of social care workers to register with us in early 2010. This would not include personal assistants. Last Thursday the Government launched its adult social care workforce strategy and there was a chapter dedicated to registration of the workforce. For more details please see this page (DOH). As you will see, paragraph 109 says: "We expect the GSCC to consult on proposals for the registration of personal assistants in due course".
